BIRMINGHAM, Mich. – July 13, 2012 – The Townsend Hotel, a AAA 4-Diamond luxury property known for its exceptional service and amenities, today announced the recent addition of Jason Hawkins to its leadership team in the role of director of front office operations. The announcement was made by Peter Wilde, The Townsend’s managing director.

In his role as director of front office operations, Hawkins is responsible for management of all aspects of guest services, including front desk, reservations, bellmen, concierge and valet staff. In addition, he is the lead point of contact for all in-house guests, as well as ensuring the highest level of service for all of the hotel’s VIPs, sports teams and entertainment group guests.

Hawkins brings a variety of experience to his new role at The Townsend Hotel. Most recently, he served as task force general manager for American Hospitality Management Inc., traveling the Midwest region on several assignments, [...]

Tesla Charging Stations Installed at The Townsend Hotel...

BIRMINGHAM, Mich. – April 1, 2015 – Beginning today, April 1, 2015, overnight guests of The Townsend Hotel, as well as corporate event attendees and visitors to the property’s Rugby Grille and Afternoon Tea, will have access to the luxury hotel’s three new complimentary electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.

The Townsend Hotel, a AAA 4-Diamond and Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star luxury property known for its exceptional service and amenities, is now home to EV charging stations that include two Tesla High Power Wall Connectors, as The Townsend becomes the latest property to join a rapidly growing nationwide network of hotels, resorts and restaurants in the Tesla Destination Charging Program.

The stations also include one Clipper Creek Universal Charger, which can be used to power all other makes and models of electric vehicles. Guests wishing to charge their vehicles will have them parked by The Townsend valet team at the charging stations located [...]

 BIRMINGHAM, Mich. – May 8, 2013 – The Townsend Hotel, a AAA 4-Diamond luxury property known for its exceptional service and amenities, including its award-winning Rugby Grille, today announced the addition of three new team members, all responsible for varying aspects of the hotel’s culinary services.  Jared Chorney joins the hotel as food and beverage director, David Brown as manager of The Rugby Grille and In Room Dining and Andrew Alcid as the Rugby Grille’s chef de cuisine.  The announcement was made by The Townsend Hotel’s Managing Director Steven Kalczynski.


As food and beverage director, Jared Chorney, 36, is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the hotel’s food and beverage department, including The Rugby Grille, The Townsend Bakery, The Corner bar and the property’s banquet operations.
