Townsend Hotel Again Earns Four-Star Rating From Mobil Travel Guide

BIRMINGHAM, Mich. Jan. 27, 2009 - The Townsend Hotel has again been honored with a Four-Star Award by Mobil Travel Guide, providers of one of the most comprehensive evaluation systems of hotels, restaurants and spas. The Townsend is the only hotel in Michigan to hold a perennial spot on this prestigious list - a position it has held for 20 years. This recognition also places The Townsend on Mobil Travel Guide's list of the top hotels in the United States and Canada for 2009.

For more than 50 years, Mobil Travel Guide had rated hotels using a process based on more than 750 rigorous and standardized criteria that are evaluated and updated annually. To achieve Mobil Four-Star status, properties must then meet or exceed Mobil's bar-setting service standards, which are determined through undercover service evaluation conducted by Mobil Travel Guide's expert inspectors.
