Is babysitting service available?

Babysitting services can be arranged by the Concierge. Requests should be made 48 hours in advance.

Can we bring our own AV into the Townsend Hotel?

Yes, if an outside vendor is used, the Hotel will provide a minimum of one technician to coordinate with the contractor and oversee, set-up, opration and breakdown.  Minimal fees may apply.

Does the Townsend have shuttle transportation?

Yes and it can be arranged with our concierge with charges varying on the mode of transportation.  Transportation charges can be applied to your final hotel bill for both individual and group transportation needs.

Can you get a car into your meeting space?

The Townsend Hotel's Ballroom provides external access through the loading dock for the ingress and egress of standard production automobiles. To comply with State and Local Fire and Safety Ordinances and to meet your expectations there are conditions that must be adhered to when moving in and out motorized vehicles from the meeting facilities.

Can The Townsend Hotel assist with distributing gift bags?

Absolutley! The front desk is able to store and hand-out gift bags for a fee of $2.00 per gift per room/suite. Gifts can be delivered to your registered guest for a fee of $4.00 per gift per room/suite. Please notify your Sales/ Catering Manager should you have a gift bag request.

Does The Townsend Hotel offer laundry services?

Yes. Washing, drying and pressing services are available for a fee on property. Dry cleaning is available and is provided by an outside vendor with overnight and same day service. Fees may vary.

Where can I get a Townsend Hotel bed?

Please contact our hotel staff and we will be delighted to assist you with purchasing your very own Townsend Hotel bed.

Are reservations necessary for Afternoon Tea?

Yes, reservations are necessary. A 24 hour advance inquiry is reccommended. However, if able, we will accomodate same day requests.

Is Afternoon Tea served daily?

Yes, depending on availability. Our Tea Director will be happy to offer all available dates or check a specific date for you. If you prefer, you may also be placed on our waitlist.

Do you offer options for large events?

Yes, we specialize in everything from Bridal Teas, Charities, Business Meetings, Birthday Celebrations, Babay Showers, Bridesmaids and Bachelorette Teas, Princess Teas, Daddy Daughter Teas, Themed Teas, Friends, Family, Fundraising, TEa Tastings, Tea Etiquette and so much more! We are happy to take the extra step.

Do you offer any special Afternoon Tea events?

Yes, monthly and seasonally.  All of our special events are on our website or join our E-mail list with our Tea Director for information on new upcoming events! We always look forwards to working with charities and welcome partnerships.

Is there a dress code?

Feel free to wear your favorite fashion, pumps, pearls, hats and gloves. We have great photo backdrops and welcome style! Otherwise, dress comfortably.

How much does the Afternoon Tea experience cost?

Our Traditional Tea is $36.00 a person and our Deluxe Tea is $60.00 per person inclusive of service charge and tax. You can also work with our Tea Director who would be happy to assist in customizing a menu for your specific needs.

Do you offer a childern's menu?

Yes, for childern 12 years of age and younger we offer a special menu at $25.00 a perons.

What time is check-in/check-out?

Check-in begins at 4:00PM. Check-out is at 12:00PM. Based on availabilty, an early check-in may be available. To gaurantee an early arrival, please confirm your accomodation for the night prior to your arrival.

Is smoking allowed?

Smoking is not permitted in the Hotel or at the Rugby Grille including the patio area

Are reservations required for the Rugby Grille?

What is the cancellation policy?

With few exceptions, rooms may be cancelled without penalty before noon on the day prior to your arrival.

Is there a dress code?

While we have no formal dress code and welcome guests in whatever attire they feel most comfortable, the majority of our guests are generally dressed in “smart casual” or “business casual” attire.

Where can I park my vehivle during my stay?

The hotel offers convenient valet parking services at a rate of $24.00 a night or $8.00 a day. This include in and out privileges.

Are pets welcomed at The Townsend?

Yes, The Townsend Hotel welcomes dogs. The hotel does not allow cats, gerbils or ferrets. There is a $150.00 non-refundable pet deposit and a $5.00 daily cleaning fee.

Does The Townsend Hotel have a swimming pool?

The Townsend Hotel does not have a swimming pool on site.  Please ask our concierge for local swimming pool options.

Can you accommodate guests with dietary restrictions, including vegetarians and those with specific food allergies or someone who might be on a special diet?

Our chefs will do their very best to accommodate specific requests regarding food allergies and other dietary restrictions. Feel free to call the restaurant in advance to notify of our Rugby Grille team of your specific dietary restrictions.

Are rollaways and cribs available?

Yes, rollaways are available at a fee of $20 per day and cribs are available complimentary upon request.

Does the Townsend have meeting packages and follow the AMA and Pharm guidelines?

Yes, We understand the ethical needs and regulations of the medical community. The Townsend Hotel is an excellent location for health care professionals based upon the proximity to the regional hospitals in addition to their personal residences.  Please ask your Townsend Sales Representative for pricing.

Do you have a children’s menu?

Yes. The Rugby Grille offers a children’s menu featuring a wide variety of child-friendly options.

Does The Townsend Hotel offer complimentary internet?

Complimentary internet is availble at all times for guest use in our Business Center. Fees will be assessed for in room wireless or wired internet services.

Does The Townsend Hotel have a fitness center?

Yes, it is available to guests at all times.

Does the Townsend have any rooms with bathtubs?

Yes, all of our rooms and suites feature large marble bathrooms with deep-soaking tubs.

What credit cards are accepted for payment?

We accept American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, Diner's Club, Dina Card and BC Card.

Can The Townsend Hotel accommodate bus parking?

Yes, we work with the City of Birmingham to purchase permits on your behalf to park tour buses on-site. The fee is $60 per bus, per day.

Does the Townsend have rooms with windows that open?

Yes, our rooms and suites feature windows that open.
